Techno Concepts

Techno Concepts is situated at 37, Chennai-Bangalore Trunk Road in Varadharajapuram. Being right on the trunk road means there is a lot of traffic passing by all day and night. We get a lot of dust coming in from the road, so we have to keep the front doors shut most of the time. The office is basically one big room that we’ve divided up with some plywood partitions. It isn't very fancy, just some sturdy tables and chairs that we picked up years ago. We have a small pantry in the back where we make coffee, which is what keeps us going through the long afternoons. The power goes out once in a while, so we have a generator that makes a lot of noise, but it gets the job done. We spend most of our time looking at screens or talking on the phone with people from all over. It’s a practical place. We don't have any artwork on the walls, just some maps and technical drawings pinned up here and there. Sometimes we stay late when there is a lot to finish, and the sound of the trucks outside becomes a kind of background hum that we don't even notice anymore. It’s a straightforward operation here, with no extra frills or unnecessary stuff taking up space.
