Weldeezy

We are tucked away in G-2 of the Vijay Flats. Being on the ground floor is good because the equipment we use is heavy. The Railway Border Road is always busy and you can hear the trains passing by every few minutes. It makes the windows rattle a bit. This place in Kodambakkam isn't very big but we make it work for us. There are sparks flying most of the day and we have to wear those heavy masks that get really sweaty in the heat. The floor is covered in metal scraps and old tools that we haven't put away yet. We mostly do repairs and small builds for people around the neighborhood. Someone might bring a broken gate or a bicycle frame that needs a quick fix. We don't have a receptionist or a waiting room. You just walk in and talk to whoever isn't holding a torch at the moment. The light in here is a bit dim except for when the welding starts. We keep the door open to get a bit of a breeze but it usually just lets in the street noise. It’s a honest day's work and we go home tired with black marks on our hands. Sometimes the neighbors complain about the noise but we try to stop before it gets too late. It’s just a small shop doing what we know how to do. We keep the scrap metal in a pile out back for the recycling truck.
