You can find us over at 191 Mount Road. It’s a pretty central spot in Chennai, so there is always a lot of activity outside our doors. We mostly work with steel wires and different kinds of cold-rolled strips. It’s the kind of stuff that goes into cables or springs, things people use every day without thinking about where they come from. The office here handles the administration and the sales side of things. It’s an older building, so it has a bit of character, though the air conditioning sometimes struggles with the Chennai heat in May. We have a small team here. Most of us have been around for years, so we know the inventory by heart. There is always a stack of files on the desks and the sound of someone arguing with a transporter over the phone. We don't do anything too complicated, just making sure the steel gets to the factories that need it. Sometimes it's quiet, but usually, it's a bit of a scramble to get everything sorted before the end of the day. We like being on Mount Road because it’s easy for people to stop by, even if the parking is a total nightmare. We just get on with the business of steel, keeping track of tonnages and grades. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy from morning until evening. There is always another truck to schedule or a new order of wire to track down for a customer.
