Suraj Engineering

Suraj Engineering is located at 15, Thiruneermalai Road in Thirumudivakkam. It’s an industrial part of town, so there is always the sound of metal hitting metal and the hum of big machines in the background. We have been working out of this spot for a while now, and it’s mostly just a workshop where we get things done. The walls are a bit stained and there is oil on the floor, but that is how an engineering shop is supposed to look if work is actually happening. We don't have any flashy signs or a big reception area. Most people who come here are just looking for something to be fabricated or fixed up. Thirumudivakkam is a busy hub, so we are surrounded by other small shops doing similar things. It’s a community of workers, really. We spend our mornings setting up the lathes and grinders, and the afternoons are usually spent finishing up the jobs. It can get pretty cramped inside when we have several projects going at once, but we manage to find space for everything. We don't use a lot of fancy words to describe what we do. It’s just manual work, measuring twice and cutting once. Sometimes we stay late when a job is tougher than we thought. That is just how the engineering business goes. It’s honest work and we are just glad to be part of the local scene.
