Our small unit is tucked away at No. 28/4 on 1st Cross, Chavadi Street in Korattur. It’s a narrow street, so if a big truck comes through, everyone else has to pull over to let it pass. We’ve been operating out of this neighborhood for a while, and most of the other shop owners nearby are friends of ours. The building is a simple concrete structure that gets quite warm in the afternoon sun. We do a lot of light industrial work here, so you’ll hear the sound of cutting and grinding machines for most of the day. Our space is crowded with workbenches and raw materials, leaving just enough room to move around. We don't have a marketing department or a fancy website team; we just focus on the orders we have on the floor. Sometimes we stay late when a job needs finishing, and the street gets real quiet after the sun goes down. We usually have a stray dog or two hanging around the entrance, hoping for a bit of someone's lunch. It’s not a high-tech facility, but we have the lathes and tools we need to get the parts made. The walls are stained with oil and there's a permanent smell of cut metal in the air. It’s just a honest day's work in a busy corner of Chennai.
