Suhail Tools & Metals

Suhail Tools & Metals is located at 62, Narsingapuram, right in the middle of the Guindy area. It is usually quite loud and busy on this street. Our place is basically a big room filled with metal rods, sheets, and various tools. There is a lot of heavy lifting involved every day. We spend most of our time moving stock around or helping people find the specific metal pieces they need for their projects. The walls could use a fresh coat of paint, but we are too busy to worry about that right now. Everything has a thin layer of metallic dust on it, which is just part of working in this business. We don't use any fancy computer systems for everything; a lot of it is still written down in big ledgers on the main counter. The ceiling fans spin all day to try and beat the Chennai heat, but it stays pretty warm inside. When the rain starts, it hits the roof hard and you can barely hear yourself talk. We usually have our lunch together in the back corner among the tool crates. It’s a simple setup, and we’ve been at this location for quite some time. We just focus on getting the orders ready and making sure the metal is cut to the right lengths before the transport arrives. It is hard work, but we are used to the routine of it all now.
