Structural Engg Research Centre Serc

We are located in Chennai, specifically at Zamin Pallavaram. The address is 13B, 3rd Street, in Patchaippan Colony. It’s a residential-feeling area, which makes for a relatively quiet place to do research. We focus on structural engineering stuff here. It’s a lot of looking at plans, doing calculations, and trying to figure out how things hold together. The place is called Serc, and it’s run by V. Pavitha. We have a lot of books and technical papers stacked up on every available surface. Engineering isn't always exciting, but it’s necessary. We spend our days going over data and checking our work. The Chennai heat can be tough sometimes, but we just keep the fans going and get on with it. Patchaippan Colony is a nice enough spot. We’ve been on 3rd Street for a while now. It’s not a huge facility, just a place where we can focus on the research without too many distractions. People sometimes ask what we’re doing with all those diagrams, and it’s hard to explain without getting into the weeds. We just look at how structures behave and what makes them safe or unsafe. It’s technical work, and we try to be as careful as possible. We don't have any big flashy signs outside. It’s just a house that we’ve turned into a research center. We like it that way because it keeps things grounded and simple. No point in making things complicated. We just get the job done right here.
