Steel- Smith

Our shop is tucked away on the first floor at Shop No. F8, New No.21, Old No.11, Erabellu Chetty Street. It’s a busy commercial street and finding the right door can be a bit tricky if you aren't looking closely. We’ve been here at Steel-Smith for quite some time, dealing with various steel tools and industrial components. Because we are on the first floor, we have to carry everything up and down the stairs, which keeps us in good shape I suppose. The space isn't huge, so we have to be very organized with how we stack our boxes and display the items. Most of our customers are people from the nearby workshops or traders who know exactly what they are looking for. We spend a lot of time counting out small parts and making sure the orders are complete. It’s often quite noisy outside with the sounds of the street vendors and the traffic. Inside, it’s a bit quieter, but we’re always busy checking stock or answering the phone. We don't have a big showroom, just a simple counter and shelves filled with steel products. It’s a traditional way of doing business, face to face with the people who use the tools. We know the history of the building and the street pretty well by now. We just focus on keeping the shelves stocked and making sure we can find what a customer needs quickly.
