Steel & Wire House

Our business, Steel & Wire House, is at No.32 on Venkatachala Mudali Street. We are located in Park Town, very close to the Kandaswamy Koil. It is a very old and crowded street. We have been selling wire and various steel products here for a long time now. It is a family business that has been passed down. The shop itself is small and packed from floor to ceiling with different coils of wire and steel bits. It might look messy to an outsider, but we know exactly where every gauge of wire is stored. Customers come to us for all kinds of reasons, like making fences or for construction projects. We cut the wire to the size they need right there. It is physical work and involves moving heavy bundles all day. The street outside is always noisy with people and carts going by. We enjoy being part of the local Park Town market. We do not have a website or any online presence. We just open up the shop in the morning and wait for people to stop in. Many of our customers have been coming here for decades, ever since my father was running the place. We keep things simple. If you need wire, we have it, we weigh it out, and you pay for it. The old fans in the ceiling don't do much in the summer, but we just get used to the heat.
