We are over at Padmalaya Towers on Janaki Avenue in MRC Nagar. It’s a nice enough area to have an office. We deal in steel, which sounds like it should be done in a dusty yard, but we handle the administrative side from here. The office has a view of the street, and we see people heading to work every morning while we settle in with our registers. There are usually three or four of us here at any given time. We spend a lot of time on the phone with the mills and the transport guys. It’s a lot of coordination. Steel isn't something you can just put in a small van, so the logistics take up most of our brainpower. We try to keep things simple. There isn't any corporate jargon flying around this office. We talk about weights, grades, and delivery dates. Sometimes we have a bit of a laugh when things go right, and we grumble a bit when a shipment is late. It’s just a normal workplace. The coffee machine breaks down once a week, but the local tea stall is better anyway. We’ve been in this building for a while, and the neighbors are mostly other business folks. We just keep our heads down and do our jobs. It’s not flashy, but it’s what we know and it keeps the business moving along.
