Our factory is at Plot No.51 in Ambattur. It’s a busy industrial area, and we fit right in with the rest of the workshops. We are pretty close to Balaji Nagar, which makes it easy for the workers to get here every morning. Sri Vijayalakshmi Fabricates Pvt Ltd has been doing fabrication work for a long time. The floor is always covered in metal shavings and the smell of oil. It’s a noisy place with the machines running all day long. We make parts for all sorts of industries. Some days we are working on big heavy pieces and other days it’s small, precise stuff. It’s hard work and it gets very humid in Ambattur, especially during the monsoon season. We have a small office tucked in the corner where we keep the blueprints and the invoices. It’s a bit quieter in there, but you can still feel the vibrations from the shop floor. We aren't interested in being a big corporate entity with fancy suits. We just want to make things that hold together and do what they are supposed to do. Most of our customers are other businesses in the area who know they can just call us up when they need something made. We don't have a marketing team or anything like that. We just rely on the quality of our welding and the fact that we’ve been here for years. It’s a practical business run by people who aren't afraid to get their hands dirty every day.
