We've been at 41 Appar Swamy Koil Street for quite some time now. People in Thiruvatyur know the spot because we’ve been here through all kinds of changes in the neighborhood. It's mostly just us handling the metal work day in and day out. It gets really noisy with all the cutting and moving stuff around, but that's just how it goes here. The shop isn't fancy at all, and to be honest, it probably needs a fresh coat of paint. We have stacks of metal here and there, and sometimes it’s hard to find a place to even sit down when someone drops by to talk about a job. We just get on with the work. Usually, we're open quite early because the morning air is much better for the heavy lifting before the heat really kicks in. Dealing with metal is tough on the hands and the back, you know. But we like being part of the local street. My father used to say that a business is just about showing up and doing what you said you'd do. So we show up. If you walk down our street, you’ll usually hear us before you actually see us. It’s a busy corner, always someone passing by or a dog sleeping near the entrance. We don't have a big office or a fancy computer system. Just the workspace and the old tools that have served us well. Some days are slower, but there’s always something to organize. We stay here and work.
