Sri Sai Stainless

You can find us at Plot No. 5 on West Mada Street in Thiruporur. Being so close to the temple means there’s always a lot of movement outside. On festival days, the whole street gets blocked, and we usually just end up watching the crowds from the doorway. At Sri Sai Stainless, the air is often filled with the sound of metal being cut or polished. It’s a noisy business, but we’re used to it. The floor is covered in fine metal dust by noon, no matter how often we sweep. We have a heavy workbench that has been with us since the beginning. It’s seen a lot of use. We don't have a fancy showroom. Most of our stainless steel pieces are just stacked against the wall or sitting on pallets. If a customer wants to see something, we just pull it out and show them right there. It’s very direct. We wear work clothes that get worn out pretty fast. There’s a small sink in the back where we wash up before heading home. My hands always smell a bit like iron. We don’t do much advertising. People just see the shop when they are walking toward the temple or running errands on Mada Street. It’s a practical setup. We focus on the metal and making sure the measurements are right. That’s enough to keep us busy from morning until the sun goes down.
