Sri Maruthi Metals

We started Sri Maruthi Metals a while back on Voc Street. It's not a huge place but we keep a lot of stuff here. Mostly stainless steel, brass and some copper items for kitchens and homes. Sometimes people come in looking for specific sizes of vessels or just some pipe fittings and we try to find what they need. Varadharajan Nagar is a busy enough spot and being in Shenmandalam means we see a lot of the same faces every week. The shelves are pretty packed and it can get a bit loud when we're moving the heavy metal sheets around. We don't really do much fancy advertising. Most folks just walk in because they know we're here. We spend a lot of time checking the stock and making sure the inventory matches what people are asking for lately. It’s a lot of manual work, lifting things and keeping the dust off the shine of the brass. Some days are slower than others but there's always something to organize or a supplier to talk to. We've got different types of utensils and hardware bits tucked into the corners. It’s just how we run things here day to day. We don't have a big office or anything, just the shop floor and a small desk where we keep the books. If you’re walking down Voc Street you’ll see the sign and the stacks of metal outside. It’s a simple setup but it works for us and the neighborhood.
