Sri Devi Earth Movers

Over at 312/A on Dr. Ambedkar Street in Attipattu, we keep our machines parked and ready. Earth moving is heavy work and it’s what we know best. Most of our days are spent out on sites, digging or moving piles of dirt and stone, so the office here is often quiet until the evening. We have a few different pieces of equipment that we maintain ourselves because we don’t like waiting around for someone else to fix them. Attipattu has changed a lot since we started, with more building going on everywhere you look. It’s dusty work and can be quite tiring when the sun is out, but that’s the nature of the job. We don’t have a big team, just a few of us who know how to handle the controls. Sometimes we get called out for small backyard jobs, and other times we’re on a bigger project for a few weeks. We don’t go in for big talk or marketing, we just show up and do the digging that needs to be done. The yard gets pretty muddy when it rains, making things a bit of a mess, but we don't mind it much. People in the neighborhood know where to find us if they need a hole dug or some land cleared. We keep it simple and focus on the machines. It is hard work but it pays the bills and keeps the community growing through the construction projects we help with.
