S.R.Foundries

Over at 166, Bharathi Nagar, near the Morai Post, is where S.R.Foundries is located. It’s a bit of a trek out here, but we like the space we have. Working in a foundry is hot, dirty work, and there’s no getting around that. We spend our days around the furnaces and the sand moulds, making parts that eventually end up in machines or buildings. The air always has that smell of hot metal and dust, which is something you just get used to after a week on the job. We don’t have any fancy signs or a polished showroom. The focus here is entirely on the casting process and making sure the pours go right. Sometimes things don't go perfectly, and we have to start a batch over, but that’s just how it goes with this kind of work. We are a small crew, mostly guys from around the Bharathi Nagar area who don't mind a bit of hard labor. We don't talk much about visions or anything grand. We just talk about the temperature of the melt and if the moulds are set correctly. It’s a tough environment, especially in the summer, but there is a certain satisfaction in seeing a finished casting come out of the sand. We just keep our heads down and get the orders filled so we can get home.
