Sree Balaji Streel

Sree Balaji Streel is located right at No. 714 on M.T.H. Road. This part of Mannurpet gets very crowded during the rush hours, which makes it interesting to watch from the shop front. We handle a lot of metal here every single day. It’s mostly heavy lifting and getting orders ready for the trucks that come and go. The sun hits the front of the building pretty hard in the afternoons, so we try to keep the fans going. It is not a quiet place, but you get used to the sound of metal clanking together. Some of the guys have been working here for years and they know the stock better than I do. We don't have a big fancy office, just a desk and some chairs where we sit to talk to people. Sometimes things get a bit disorganized when we have a big delivery, but we eventually sort it out. We just try to keep things moving. M.T.H. Road is a good place to be because everyone knows where it is. We spend a lot of time checking the sizes of the steel and making sure everything matches what was ordered. It is honest work and it keeps us busy from morning until late evening. There is always something that needs moving or a customer waiting for a price. We just take it one day at a time here at the shop and don't worry about much else besides the steel.
