Southern Perforators

If you come down to 49, Perambur Barracks Road, you’ll find Southern Perforators. We spend our time putting holes in things, mostly metal sheets. It sounds simple, but it takes a bit of precision to get the patterns right. The shop is usually loud because of the punching machines. You get used to the rhythm after a while. We aren't a big, polished company with a marketing department. It’s just us here, working the machines and checking the sheets as they come off the line. Perambur Barracks Road is a gritty place, and our shop fits right in. We’ve got stacks of material waiting to be worked on and piles of scrap in the corner. We don't worry too much about having the floors perfectly clean, as long as the work is accurate. Sometimes a customer brings in a weird request, and we have to spend some time figuring out how to set up the dies. It can be a bit of a headache, but we usually find a way. We aren't here to impress anyone with big words or fancy titles. We just deliver the perforated metal that people need for their projects. It’s a living, and we’ve been doing it long enough to know what we are doing. The coffee machine in the corner is probably the most important piece of equipment after the giant presses we use for the heavy work.
