Our office is located at No:4/64 on the first floor of Jayalakshmi Apartments. We are in Elango Nagar Extn 4, which is in the CRR Puram part of Virugambakkam. It is a residential area, so it feels a bit more like a home than a stiff office. There are families living in the other apartments, so we try to keep the noise down. The space inside is simple. We have our desks, some filing cabinets, and a small area for tea. It is a Chennai workplace through and through. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but they are fine for now. We spend our time managing contracts and looking over schedules. Outside, there are trees and the usual neighborhood sounds. It is a bit of a maze to get here if you don’t know the turns in CRR Puram. We like being in this part of the city. It is close enough to the main spots but quiet enough to actually think. The morning starts with the watchman washing the entrance. We come in around ten and stay until the work is done. There is nothing fancy about how we run things. We just sit at our stations and deal with whatever the day brings. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to step out onto the balcony for some air. It is just how it goes here in Virugambakkam. We finish up and lock the door as the evening shadows grow.
