Sivasakthi Engineering & Fabricators

We are Sivasakthi Engineering & Fabricators, based at 29, Thiruvengadem Street in West Mambalam. Our workshop is right there on the street, and you can usually hear us before you see us. There’s always some welding or cutting going on. It’s a small operation, just a few of us who know how to handle the tools. The floor is usually covered in metal shavings and offcuts. We don't have a showroom or a fancy office. If you want to talk to us, you usually have to shout over the noise of a grinder. West Mambalam is a busy residential and commercial mix, so we get all sorts of people walking by. We do a lot of small jobs for people in the neighborhood, like fixing a gate or making a frame. It’s not the kind of work that makes you famous, but it’s useful. Our tools are old but they still work fine. We take our breaks together and usually talk about the news or the local cricket scores. It’s a simple life. We start early and finish when the work is done for the day. Sometimes we stay late if a job is urgent, but mostly we try to keep regular hours. It’s just a plain engineering shop doing its thing without making much of a fuss about it. We just focus on the welding and the customer's request.
