Site Engineer

You can find me at No 2/3 on 18th Street in Thillai Ganga Nagar. Chennai 600 061 is a good area, and I’ve been working as a site engineer around here for a good while. My day usually involves a lot of walking around half-finished buildings and talking to masons. I’m not really into the big marketing side of things. I just focus on the technical stuff like checking the steel reinforcement or making sure the concrete mix is right. It’s a hands-on job, and my clothes usually have a bit of cement dust on them by noon. The office in Thillai Ganga Nagar is where I do the technical drawings and handle the permits. It’s a quiet enough spot to get the thinking work done before I head back out to the sun. Construction is complicated because so many things can go wrong at once. You have to watch the laborers, talk to the suppliers, and keep an eye on the clock. I don't use a lot of big words or make grand promises. I just try to be honest about how long a job will take and what it’s going to cost. Dealing with the heat in Chennai is probably the hardest part of being a site engineer, but you get used to it. I’ve worked on plenty of projects in this neighborhood, and I like seeing them go from a hole in the ground to a finished home.
