Site Engineer

I’m Venkadesan and I work with K. Aiyappan. We are based over in Nanganallur in Chennai. The office is really just a spot in Indhu Colony on 1st Cross Street. It’s a quiet residential area mostly. I spend most of my time as a site engineer out at the actual construction spots across the city. Chennai is big and getting around takes a lot of time these days. I’ve got my DME and that helps with the technical side of the projects. We’ve been here in 600061 for a good while. It’s not a fancy corporate setup or anything. It’s more of a local operation where we just get the work done. Aiyappan handles some things and I handle the site visits and the technical checks. There’s a lot of activity in this part of town lately. New buildings are going up every month it seems. If you know the 1st Cross Street, we are right there in the colony. It’s easy to find once you’re in the neighborhood. I like the hands-on part of the job. Checking measurements and making sure the workers are following the plans is important. It’s tiring sometimes but it’s what I know. We don’t really do much advertising or marketing. Most people just know us from previous projects or by word of mouth. It’s a practical way to run a business in a busy city like this. I just focus on the job at hand and move to the next project site.
