Site Engineer

I’ve been running Site Engineer out of Korattur for a while now. We’re tucked away on Second Main Road in Srinivasapuram. If you know Chennai, you know how the traffic can get, so we try to get an early start every morning. Most days involve a lot of sweat and dust. We aren't a big firm with fancy glass walls or anything. It’s just us in a small office, mostly surrounded by rolled-up blueprints and half-empty tea cups. We spend more time on actual construction sites than we do sitting at our desks. Someone is always calling about a measurement or a column that doesn't look right. That's just how the work goes. I remember when we first moved into this spot, the neighbors thought we were just another house, but then they saw the surveying tools coming in and out. We know the local ground here pretty well. Korattur has its own quirks with the soil. It’s not always easy work, especially when the sun is beating down on us at noon, but it keeps us busy. We don’t have a receptionist or a big marketing team. When you call, you usually get one of us directly, probably while we’re trying to hear over the sound of a mixer or a drill. We just focus on getting the technical details right so the builders don't have a headache later on. It’s a plain, honest living. It’s not about being the biggest, just about being there when the work needs doing.
