We are right in the middle of everything at Spencer Plaza. Our shop number is G199, located on Anna Salai. This building is one of the oldest malls in Chennai, so everyone knows where it is. Being in Door No 768/769 means we see a lot of people walking by every single day. The office is more like a retail spot since it is in a plaza. It is a bit strange working in a mall, but you get used to the artificial lights and the hum of the central cooling. We have our displays and our desks set up in the back. It is a small space, but we manage. The mornings are quiet until the mall officially opens to the public. Then you hear the music and the chatter of shoppers. We deal with the home projects from this little unit. There is always a lot of foot traffic, and sometimes people just wander in out of curiosity. The Spencer Plaza atmosphere is unique. It has that old-school Chennai feel even with the newer shops around. We drink a lot of coffee from the nearby stalls. The work keeps us busy from morning until the mall starts to close up for the night. We have been in this unit for a while and have seen the building change over the years. It is a landmark spot for a reason, and we are just another part of it. Most days are long but interesting because of the location.
