Sife Engineering

We’ve been running Sife Engineering out of Arumbakkam for a long time. Our workshop is on Flowers Road, and the address is a bit confusing because the old number was 6/2 but now it’s officially 15. It’s a busy road with a lot of shops and people walking by all day. Our place is full of metal, tools, and the smell of oil, which is pretty much what you expect from an engineering shop. We aren't the type of people to wear suits or sit in air-conditioned offices all day. Most of us are usually covered in a bit of grease by noon. We’ve been in this same spot for years, and we’ve seen the neighborhood change a lot, but our shop stays pretty much the same. It’s a bit cramped inside with all the parts and projects we have going on, but we know where everything is. The noise from the machines can be quite loud, so we have to shout sometimes to hear each other over the grinding. We don't have a website or do any big marketing; people just know to come to Flowers Road when they need something fabricated or fixed. It's a local business through and through. We open the shutters early in the morning and stay until the last job is finished. It’s hard work, but it’s what we know how to do, and we’ve been doing it right here in Arumbakkam for a generation.
