Mother India Industries

Our unit, Mother India Industries, is situated at No. 141 in the Tiny Sector of the SIDCO Industrial Estate in Ekkaduthangal. This is a place where small-scale businesses like ours can get things done. The space is quite compact. We have to be careful about where we put everything. We mainly focus on industrial manufacturing and assembly. There are just a few of us here. We have been working together for a long time. The estate is always full of activity. Trucks move in and out constantly. People are always working in the different units. Ekkaduthangal is a busy part of Chennai. Being in the SIDCO area means we are surrounded by other people doing similar work. We spend our days at the benches or working the machines. It is a lot of manual labor. It can get quite hot in the afternoons. We don't have any big marketing plans or a sales team. Usually, people find us through word of mouth. Sometimes they are also located in the estate. We just try to keep our costs down and do a decent job with the materials we have. It is a very simple way of doing business. We open the shutters in the morning and work until the sun goes down. It is not a glamorous life. It is our life and we are used to it after all these years.
