Shree Lakshmi Steel Corporation

If you walk down Sembudoss Street in Broadway, you’ll find us at number 31/65. It is a very old part of town and the streets are narrow. This makes getting big steel deliveries a bit of a nightmare sometimes, especially when the traffic is bad. Shree Lakshmi Steel Corporation has been in this building for quite a while. The walls are thick and the floors are stained with years of work. We deal in steel products, mostly rods and sheets. It’s heavy, hot, and tiring work. The sun beats down on the metal outside and makes it almost too hot to touch in the afternoons. We have a couple of guys who help with the loading, and they are stronger than they look. We don't have a website or anything like that. People just know where we are because we’ve been here so long. We use old-fashioned scales to weigh everything. Sometimes the customers stay for a bit to chat about the local news or the price of tea. We don't use any fancy language to describe ourselves. We are just a steel shop in a crowded market. We try to be fair with our prices because we want people to come back. Every day is pretty much the same: we open up early, move some steel, and close when the street gets quiet. It is just how things have always been for us at this address.
