Shenbagam Welding & Fabrication is located at No. 982 in the Arjun Garden area. It’s a spot that most locals in zaribagames know if they’ve ever needed something made out of iron or steel. The shop itself is pretty straightforward—just a lot of tools, some heavy-duty welding machines, and stacks of raw material waiting to be used. We spend a lot of time grinding down welds to make sure they are smooth, which fills the air with a lot of dust and noise. We don’t have any fancy displays or a salesperson to greet people. Usually, you just walk in and talk to whoever isn't wearing a welding mask at the moment. It is a lot of physical labor, and by the time we close up for the evening, we are usually pretty tired and covered in soot. The neighborhood is mostly quiet, but our shop is definitely the loudest thing on the block when we are in the middle of a big project. We don't use a lot of complicated technology; we mostly rely on our eyes and our hands to get the measurements right. It’s the kind of work where you can see exactly what you’ve accomplished at the end of the day. Whether it is a simple bracket or a whole set of stairs, we just focus on making sure it’s built to stay together. It’s honest, steady work that keeps us busy and out of trouble most days.
