Scientific & Electrical Co has been operating out of 98, Linghi Chetty Street for a long time now. This part of the city is old and narrow, so it is always crowded with people and carts moving things around. Our building is one of those traditional ones where the stairs are a bit steep and the rooms have high ceilings. We sell a variety of scientific instruments and electrical supplies that schools and small labs might need. The shelves are filled with things like beakers, wires, and meters, and sometimes it takes us a minute to find exactly what a customer is looking for. It is not a modern showroom; it feels more like a warehouse where you can find hidden gems if you look long enough. We talk to a lot of teachers and technicians who come in needing a specific part for a project. There is no air conditioning in the main storage area, so we keep the fans going all day. Dealing with the traffic on Linghi Chetty Street is part of our daily routine, and we have learned how to navigate the delivery trucks in the early morning. We do not do big advertisements. Most people find us through word of mouth or because they have been coming here for decades. It is a bit messy and crowded, but it is our space, and we know every corner of it. We just focus on being helpful.
