Sargam Metals (P) Ltd. is located at 3/139, Old Mahabbalipuram Road in Thoraipakkam. Everyone knows this road as OMR. While there are a lot of new IT parks around us, our place is still a traditional metal business. We have a yard where we keep the various metal stocks. It gets very hot out there in the sun. The dust from the road tends to blow into our office, so the desks usually have a thin layer of grit by the afternoon. We don't have a fancy lobby or a receptionist. Usually, the first person you see is someone checking a delivery truck at the gate. We have a small room where we do the accounts and keep the records. The computer is a bit slow and the printer makes a lot of noise, but they get the job done eventually. There is a bus stop right near our entrance, so there are always people standing around outside. We’ve been here since before the road was widened. We know the local tea shop owner very well. We don't spend money on advertising or big signs. Most of our work comes from people who have known us for ten or twenty years. It is a straightforward business without any hidden extras. We just deal with the metal and the paperwork and go home at the end of the day.
