Sarada Steels & Bearing Co.

Our place, Sarada Steels & Bearing Co., is located at No.17, Post Office Street in George Town. If you know the area, you know it’s right near by Amman Koil, so it’s always crowded with people and vehicles. Being in George Town means there is never a quiet moment. We’ve got steel and bearings stacked all over the place. It’s a tight fit sometimes, but we make it work. The shop has been here for years and the walls could probably tell a lot of stories if they could talk. We don't spend money on fancy decorations or big signs. Most of our day is spent moving heavy stuff around and making sure we have what people are looking for. The air is usually thick with the smell of grease and metal, which is just part of the job. Sometimes the street gets so blocked up that even a bicycle can’t get through, so we have to plan our loading very carefully. We know the other shop owners on Post Office Street well, and we all kind of look out for each other. It’s a traditional way of doing business where a handshake still means something. We aren't trying to change the world, just trying to keep the bearings spinning and the steel moving. It gets dusty and loud, but we like the energy of the market. It’s just how things are done in this part of town.
