Safety Shield Fire Fighting Equipments is tucked away in Velachery over at Mgr Nagar. We've been at number 20 for a good stretch of time now. Dealing with fire gear is a serious thing, so we spend our days checking extinguishers and looking over various safety supplies. It’s a dusty job sometimes, moving heavy tanks around and making sure everything is filled up properly. We don't have a big corporate office or anything like that. It’s more of a practical space where we can actually get the work done without much fuss. People from around the neighborhood stop by when they need their home or shop equipment checked out. We see a lot of the same faces month after month. It can get pretty hot in the afternoons, especially in the summer, but the work has to happen regardless of the weather. We try to keep things organized, but sometimes the shop floor gets a bit cluttered when a big shipment of new gear comes in. We don't use a lot of big words to describe what we do here. It’s basically just about making sure things work if there’s ever a fire. We’ve got the regular tools and the parts needed for repairs. If you walk past Mgr Nagar, you’ll probably see us moving stuff in and out of the entrance. It’s a small team here. We just show up, do the checks, and make sure everyone is set with what they need. It's a living, and it keeps us involved with the community here in Velachery.
