Down in Mylapore, things feel a bit more traditional. We are located at 117/112 on Luz Church Road. It’s a busy stretch of road with a lot of shops and people walking to the temple. Ceasefire Industries Pvt. Ltd. has its office here, and it’s a place filled with red cylinders and safety manuals. Fire safety is one of those things people don't think about until they really need to, so we spend a lot of time just reminding folks to check their equipment. The office has high ceilings but it feels small because of all the inventory we keep stacked against the walls. We have a few desks pushed together in the middle of the room. The sound of the traffic from Luz Church Road is always there in the background, like a hum you eventually stop hearing. We get all kinds of people walking in, from shop owners to people living in the nearby flats. Most of the time, we are just explaining how to pull a pin or check a pressure gauge. It’s not a glamorous way to spend a Tuesday, but it’s important enough. We have a small pantry in the back where the kettle is always on. If you come by in the afternoon, there’s usually someone there having a biscuit and a break. We’ve been in Mylapore for a while and we’ve seen the neighborhood change, but our little corner stays pretty much the same.
