Saaagaz Builders Private Limited is based right in Triplicane. If you know the area, you know Akbar Sahib Street is always buzzing. Our office is at New No 18, which used to be Old No 57 back in the day. It’s one of those classic Chennai spots where history and new buildings are all mixed up. We spend a lot of our time walking through the narrow lanes here, looking at different sites and talking to neighbors. The building business in a place like Triplicane is pretty unique because of how tight the spaces are. You really have to know what you’re doing to get materials in and out of these streets. Our team is just a handful of dedicated people who grew up around here or have worked in the city for decades. We don’t have a big corporate lobby or anything like that. It’s just a desk, some chairs, and a lot of blueprints. We take on jobs that make sense for us, usually residential stuff where we can be hands-on. Sometimes the traffic makes it hard to get things moving on schedule, but we’ve learned to work around the city's rhythm. We aren't trying to be the biggest company in Chennai. We just want to do solid work that stays standing long after we’re gone. It’s an honest job, and being in a place with so much character like Triplicane makes the long hours feel worth it. Most days you will find us drinking tea and going over the latest site plans.
