Up at 241 Pantheon Road in Egmore, you’ll find where we run things. Rubini Earth Movers is right in the middle of everything here. It’s a crowded part of town, so operating heavy machinery isn't always the easiest thing to do. We have to time our movements just right so we don't get stuck in the Egmore traffic for hours. Our machines are usually busy on one site or another across the city. We don't have a big fancy showroom or anything like that. It’s just a place to park and handle the day-to-day stuff. We’ve seen the city change quite a bit from the seat of an excavator. There’s always something being torn down or built up around Pantheon Road. We just provide the muscle for those projects. It’s hot work, especially in the summer months when the metal of the machine gets too hot to touch. We don't talk much about visions or anything like that. We just show up when we say we will and dig the holes that need digging. Sometimes the machines break down and we have to spend the night fixing a hydraulic leak in the dark. That’s just the way it is. We aren't looking to be famous, just trying to stay busy and keep the equipment in good shape for the next job. You get used to the city noise after a while. Pantheon Road is always humming.
