We have been at 204 Mint Street for quite some time now. If you’ve ever walked down this part of the city, you know how crowded it gets with all the carts and people rushing around. Our shop, Rasi Metals, isn’t anything fancy to look at. We keep the metal stacked against the walls and sometimes it spills over onto the floor when a big delivery comes in. The ceiling fan wobbles a bit and makes a clicking sound that we’ve just gotten used to over the years. We don't really do the whole corporate thing here. It’s mostly just us handling the stock and talking to people who need specific pieces of metal for whatever they are building. The desk in the back is covered in old notebooks where we keep track of things. Sometimes the phone rings and it’s just someone asking if we have a certain size of sheet or rod. It gets pretty hot in the afternoons, especially when the sun hits the front of the building. We usually leave the door wide open to catch a breeze, even though it brings in all the street noise. There is always a layer of dust on everything, but that is just how it is when you work with these materials. We don't have a big team or anything, just a few of us who know where everything is kept. It’s a bit of a maze inside but we manage to find what's needed.
