Ramdev Metals

Ramdev Metals is located in Sowcarpet, specifically at Ibrahim Sahib Street. The building used to be number 17 but now it is number 7. We are right near the old Padmanabha Theatre, which is a good landmark if you are trying to find us. This part of the city is incredibly crowded and the lanes are very narrow. You can hear the sounds of the market all day long. We deal in various metals and our shop is usually overflowing with materials. There is barely enough room to walk inside sometimes. We have a small desk near the front where we sit and handle the cash and the bills. It is a very traditional way of doing business. We know almost everyone on the street. It is the kind of place where you stop for a chat even if you aren't buying anything. The heat can be quite bad in the afternoons, so we have a few old fans blowing air around. We don't have a mission statement or a fancy philosophy. We just sell metal and try to keep our head above water. Every day is a bit of a struggle with the traffic and the logistics of moving heavy goods in such a tight area, but we have been doing it for years. It is a simple life and we are just part of the local fabric here in Sowcarpet. We close the shutters once the street begins to quiet down.
