We’ve been here on Dasarathapuram Main Road for a good while now. Most people in Saligramam know where the office is if they’ve ever walked down this street looking for a place to stay. It’s just me and a couple of others here most days, usually drinking tea and looking through our files. We handle things for the local area mainly. It’s not a huge setup, just a desk and some chairs where people come to sit and talk about what they need. Sometimes it’s a small room for a student, other times it’s a house for a family that’s growing too fast. The traffic outside can get pretty loud during the mornings, but we don’t mind it much. We know the landlords around here and which buildings have water issues or good parking. People just drop by without calling sometimes because they saw the sign while heading to the market. We don’t have any fancy brochures or big ads. If someone wants a house in Saligramam, they come in, we look at the list, and we go for a walk to see the place. It’s a straightforward way of doing things. We’ve seen the neighborhood change quite a bit, new shops opening up and old houses being pulled down. We just keep doing what we do, helping out neighbors and newcomers find a spot that works for them without too much fuss.
