R. V. Refractories Sarada Ceramics Pvt. Ltd.

We’ve been here at the SIDCO Industrial Estate in Ambattur for a good while now. It’s a busy spot, always something moving around. We deal with refractories and ceramics, mostly high-heat stuff for furnaces and boilers. The shop floor gets pretty warm, especially during the summer months in Chennai, but the guys are used to it. Our place at No. 388 is usually stacked with bricks and lining materials. It’s not a fancy office or anything like that. Just a lot of heavy material and people trying to get orders out on time. Sometimes the trucks have a hard time backing in because the lane gets crowded, but we manage. If you walk inside, you’ll probably see some dust on the desks and hear the machines going in the back. That’s just how it is with ceramics. We’ve seen the neighborhood change quite a bit over the years. New units opening up and old ones closing down. We just keep doing what we do. It’s honest work, even if it gets a bit messy sometimes with the clay and the powders. Most of our day is spent checking batches or talking to the laborers about the next load. It’s not the kind of job where you wear a suit. You’re lucky if your shirt stays clean until lunch. Anyway, that’s us in a nutshell. Just a local business in Ambattur making sure the industrial units get the heat-resistant materials they need to keep their own operations running.
