Our office is over on Aani Street, right in the middle of Chinmaya Nagar. It’s house number 6/10 if you are looking for it. Virugambakkam is a busy area, but this street is usually manageable. I’ve been running this practice for a while now, mostly dealing with the usual tax stuff and accounting work that local businesses need. It’s a small operation, really. Just a few of us sitting around desks with calculators and computer screens. The place gets a bit crowded when it’s tax season, with boxes of files sitting on the floor because the shelves are full. I try to keep things organized, but there’s always another pile of receipts or a government notice to deal with. We don’t have a receptionist, so usually, one of us just looks up when the door opens. We drink a lot of tea while going through the bank statements and ledger entries. It’s a lot of staring at spreadsheets and making sure we didn't miss a zero somewhere. People from the neighborhood stop by because they know where we are. We aren't trying to be some big corporate firm in a glass building. We just work here, handle the audits, and try to keep up with the new rules the government keeps putting out. Virugambakkam is where we’ve stayed because it is convenient for most of our local clients who live around here. The fan makes a bit of noise, but we’re used to it.
