Down here at New No 170 in Chennai, we’ve set up our firm to handle the usual accounting needs. It’s a straightforward place in Tamil Nadu. We don't spend money on glossy brochures or big billboards. Most of the people who come to see us just need their taxes filed or some help with their business books. The office is usually quiet, except for the sound of calculators and clicking keyboards. We try to keep things organized, even when the paperwork starts piling up toward the end of the month. It’s a bit warm in Chennai, so we keep the fans going. We've been at this address for a bit now. We know the other shop owners nearby and it’s a decent place to work. We aren't trying to be the biggest firm in India. We just want to do a good job for the people who trust us with their financial stuff. Every day is pretty much the same: we come in, check the mail, respond to queries, and get through the files. Sometimes we have to explain the rules a few times, but that’s just part of the job. It’s a practical way to earn a living. We appreciate the regulars who have been coming to us for years. It’s just us, working away in 600 005. The heat outside doesn't stop us from getting the reports ready for our clients.
