Prakash Metal Works

Our workshop is located out in Ambattur, at the Sidco Estate. It is number 360, right near some of the bigger plants. There is always a lot of noise coming from the machines because we are usually cutting or welding something. It gets pretty hot in here during the summer months but we just keep the fans running and get on with the job. We have been doing metal work for a long time now. My father taught me how to handle the equipment when I was younger and now I run the floor with a small crew. We do not have a big office or a fancy reception area. If you come by, you will probably find us covered in dust or grease. That is just the nature of the work. We make parts for people who need them. Sometimes they bring in a drawing and we figure out how to make it work. The estate stays busy with trucks moving in and out all day. It is a practical place for a business like ours. We do not have a big website or anything like that. Most people just know where we are or hear about us from a friend. We take pride in just getting the pieces right. It is hard work but it pays the bills. Sometimes the machines act up but we fix them and keep going. That is just life in a machine shop.
