You can find us at the G-17 Cooperative Industrial Estate on E.H. Road in Vyasarpadi. It is a pretty gritty area with a lot of manufacturing going on. We make different kinds of kitchen items here. The sound of metal pressing and polishing is what we hear from morning till night. It is quite loud, and the floor is always covered in bits of metal shavings. We are not a big fancy brand you see on TV; we just make solid stuff that people use in their homes every day. The heat from the machines can be quite intense, especially during the summer months in Chennai. We usually have the big industrial fans blowing, but they mostly just move the hot air around. I have been working at this estate for a long time now. We have a small crew of workers who know exactly what they are doing. Most of us have been together for years and we know the routine. We do not have a receptionist or a lobby. If you come by, you will probably find us on the factory floor checking the latest batch of products. It is dusty and noisy, but it is where the work happens. We focus on getting the shapes right and making sure the finish is okay. It is not glamorous, but it is a necessary business. We pack everything into crates and send them out. That is our daily routine.
