We’ve been here at 14 Abdul Kalam Road for a good while now. Nagalkeni is a busy part of Chromepet, and our shop fits right in with the rest of the industrial noise. Most days start early with a lot of heavy lifting and moving parts around. It isn't a fancy place, just a workspace where we get things done. You’ll find a lot of metal components and tools scattered about because we’re usually in the middle of three things at once. The air smells like oil and iron, which is just how it is when you’re working with pneumatic stuff. Sometimes the traffic outside gets really loud, especially during the morning rush, but we just keep our heads down. People come by looking for specific parts or asking if we can fix something that’s broken down on them. We don't have a big reception area or anything like that. You just walk in and talk to whoever isn't holding a wrench at the moment. It’s a practical setup. My desk is covered in old invoices and some parts that I need to sort through eventually. We’ve seen the neighborhood change a bit over the years, but the work stays mostly the same. It’s about getting the machines running and making sure things fit together right. It’s hard work, and our hands are usually dirty by noon, but it’s what we know how to do here.
