Peniel Engineers

Our shop is located at No. 1 Varghese Street in Perungudi, right in the Elim Nagar area. It’s quite near Thirumalai Nagar, so it’s a neighborhood we’ve grown very familiar with over the years. As engineers, our day mostly involves a lot of measuring, cutting, and looking over technical drawings. The space isn't huge, but we make use of every inch of it with our tools and workbenches. There’s usually a thin layer of dust on the windows from the street, and the sound of the grinders is a constant backdrop to our conversations. We started out with just a few basic machines and have slowly added more as we needed them. It’s the kind of place where you can smell the oil and the metal as soon as you step inside. We don’t have a fancy waiting room or a secretary; if you need something, you just find one of us on the floor. Most of our neighbors are used to the noise by now. We try to be tidy, but when we’re in the middle of a big job, things tend to get a bit cluttered with materials and offcuts. It’s honest work and we take it as it comes. We aren't trying to be the biggest outfit in town, just the one that does the job correctly the first time. It’s a simple life at Peniel Engineers, making things and fixing what’s broken every day.
