Am Engineering Works

Am Engineering Works is located at No. 20- A on Bramin Street in Korattur. It’s a small workshop where we do a lot of welding, cutting, and metal fabrication. The street is mostly residential, so we try not to make too much noise too early in the morning. Inside, there’s usually a pile of iron rods or steel sheets waiting to be worked on. It’s a simple setup with a couple of welding machines and some grinders. We get all kinds of small jobs, like fixing a gate or making a frame for someone’s house. Sometimes we get bigger orders from local businesses too. The floor is always covered in metal shavings and dust, no matter how much we sweep. It’s a honest way to make a living. We don’t have a big team, just a few of us who know how to handle the tools. Korattur is a quiet neighborhood for the most part, and we’ve been on Bramin Street for a good while now. People just walk in when they need something welded or cut to size. We don't have a receptionist or anything like that; you just talk to whoever is holding the torch at the time. The summers are really tough because the heat from the welding makes the shed feel like an oven. We just take some breaks and keep going. It’s just a plain old engineering shop doing local work for people nearby.
