Pacific Ocean Shipping Agency has its office in Singapore Plaza on Linghi Chetty Street. We are on the first floor, right in the heart of Parrys in Chennai. If you know Parrys, you know it is one of the busiest trading areas you can find. The streets are narrow and always packed with people and goods being moved on carts. Our building, Singapore Plaza, is a well-known spot among the local businesses. We have been working out of this space for quite some time now. The office is usually humming with the sound of the air conditioner trying to beat the Chennai heat. We have desks piled with shipping manifests and ledgers. It is a bit old-fashioned here, but it works for us. We spend our days coordinating with the port and making sure all the agency work is handled properly. There is always someone coming in or going out with some paperwork. We don't have a fancy website or a big marketing budget. Most people find us because we have been on Linghi Chetty Street for so long. The neighborhood is full of tea stalls and small shops, and we are just one of the many businesses trying to get things done every day. It is loud and crowded outside, but once you step into our office, it is just us and the work we have to finish before the day ends. That is how we operate.
