You can find Om Lakshmi Engg down at 4/980 in Mugapare West. It’s basically a workshop where we get our hands dirty every day from morning until evening. Engineering sounds like a big, fancy word, but mostly we are just cutting, welding, and fixing parts for whoever needs them. We’ve been in this neighborhood for a good while, and most of the people around here know us by the sound of the machines. The shop is usually full of metal scraps, oily rags, and the sound of machines running constantly. It’s not the quietest place to spend a day, but it’s where we feel most at home. We don’t have a front desk or a receptionist to greet you, so if you come by, you’ll just have to shout for one of us over the noise of the lathe. We take the work seriously, but we’re pretty relaxed about everything else in the office. There’s always a pile of drawings on the table and some grease on the floor that never quite comes up. It’s a simple setup, really. We just like making things and solving whatever mechanical problems come through the door. Some days are much longer than others, especially when a machine breaks down or a deadline is tight, but that’s just part of the trade. We keep it honest and just do the work that’s in front of us without making it more complicated than it needs to be.
