Anita Steel Center

Anita Steel Center is right over at 54 Nyniappa Maistry Street. We are very close to Chennai Central, which means there is always a crowd nearby. Being near the station keeps us on our toes because there is so much movement all the time. Our shop at 54 Nyniappa Maistry Street is full of different items and we’ve tried to use every inch of the space. It’s a bit of a tight squeeze sometimes when a lot of people are inside. We’ve been here for years and we’ve seen Chennai Central change a lot, but our little corner stays pretty much the same. We don't have a big corporate office or anything. It’s just the shop and the people who work here. We spend our days helping folks find what they need and making sure the inventory is right. Sometimes the street gets blocked by trucks or the crowds from the station make it hard to get through, but we manage. We aren't big on fancy talk or trying to sell people things they don't need. We just run Anita Steel Center the best we can. It’s a lot of hard work and long hours, but it’s what we do. If you’re walking near the station, you can’t miss Nyniappa Maistry Street. We’re the ones with the steel out front. It’s just a regular local business run by people who live nearby and know the area well.
