New Way Shopping

You can find us over at No 193/12 on the first floor. We’re right on Jawahar Nehru Salai, which most people just call the 100 Feet Road here in Arumbakkam. If you’re looking for us, we are directly opposite the Indian Oil petrol pump. Being on the first floor means people have to walk up the stairs, but it keeps the shop a bit quieter from the street noise. We sell a variety of things, kind of like a general shopping spot for whatever you might need. The windows look out over the busy road, and it’s always interesting to see the traffic jams during rush hour. We spend a lot of time organizing the racks and making sure things look decent for anyone who stops by. It’s a bit of a walk from the bus stop, but we get plenty of local residents coming in. The space isn't huge, but we make it work by using every corner we have. Sometimes the air conditioning struggles when the sun hits the front of the building in the afternoon. We’re just a small team here, keeping the shelves stocked and helping people find their sizes or specific items. It’s not a corporate chain, just a local shop trying to provide basic things to the Arumbakkam community. We close up around nine usually, once the street starts to quiet down a little bit.
